About Caroline Rider
Caroline’s best teacher has been the horse, and while she
has had the privilege of working with hundreds of horses and
owners over the years, she has also been studying, and working
with some of today’s most reputable horsemen: Kathleen Lindley/Mark
Rashid; Carolyn Resnick; Lisa May/Mary Wanless; Jack Brainard;
Parelli 10 week module and levels programs 1-4. Her experience,
combined with years of education, has enabled her to develop
a strong background in equine psychology and behavior as well
as the riding dynamics associated with being fluid, centered
and harmonious with your horse.
Caroline’s approach isn’t just about a style or particular
method – it’s about approach and working with the “whole horse”;
mind, body and spirit. With careful observation of the horse’s
body language, expressions and attitude she is able to understand
the horse’s perspective, thus help prepare both horse and
owner for a deeper level of awareness, understanding and language.
Through these observations Caroline is able to determine where
the “break” in communication lies, thus effectively begin
coaching both horse and human as “one mind, body and spirit.”
Caroline attributes this approach to mindfulness and being
present with the horse at all times.
Caroline continues to teach unity and harmony through her
Holistic Horse/Human Workshops, individual lessons and foundation
training for young horses and those needing rehabilitation.
She travels for clinics, private lessons and lectures and
continues finding joy in providing both horse and human with
a deeper sense of being, companionship and oneness.
Mission
My mission is to help you create the foundation necessary
for a lifetime of harmony with your horse!
Horses are harmonious and gregarious creatures by nature who
strive for unity, social order and companionship within the
herd dynamic. This dynamic includes a hierarchy of needs and
system of bonding rituals. For our horses to feel safe, confident
and secure enough to play, their needs must be met. And, for
the horse to acclimate well within their environment they
must be able to socialize and form bonding rituals – with
either another horse or with you. If these needs and rituals
aren’t developed and fostered, horses are left feeling emotionally
deprived and anxious, thus forming displaced anxieties such
as fear and distrust as well as many of the behavioral problems
we see today.
Whether your desire is to train, show or ride for pleasure,
real success with horses will depend upon your level of knowledge,
confidence, dedication and patience. When these ingredients
are blended together, they translate into the ability to form
a working partnership with your horse – one that will prove
to be fulfilling, rewarding and enjoyable for you both.
My goal is to teach you how to develop and foster a relationship
based upon what is inherently important to both you and your
horse: love, trust, leadership and language.
